Barnet suffered a fifth straight defeat on Tuesday when they lost at Aldershot, leaving them firmly rooted to the foot of the league two table.
Mark Robson was left "gutted" for his players who he couldn't have asked more from really.
His one "disappointment", so quite a big one really, was that the goal that cost The Bees the game could have been avoided: 'The boys were very disappointed. I said to them that I was gutted for them because they worked their socks off and they gave it a good go but it was just very disappointing that they conceded a goal we could have avoided.
'The lads are very down because with the work ethic we were very confident that we could get something out of the game and at half-time we were expecting to go on and possibly win the game.'
Tightening the defence has been worked on "very hard", with the benefits being seen but still Barnet are narrowly being beaten at times and the boss knows "one lapse of concentration" is all that it needs, with this a running theme: 'We have done a lot on the defending side of the game and the boys have worked very hard which makes it all the more frustrating.
'But that one lapse of concentration can make the difference between winning, losing and drawing and unfortunately that happened to us.'
