Former Welsh International Becomes A Bee
Barnet took a look at Carl Fletcher during pre-season, with it a possibility that he could come out of retirement to sign for us?
Nothing came of it at the time...
However, having trained with us again in the past few weeks a deal was signed on Friday for him to complete his return to the game that he'd been out of for several years!
Fletcher, formerly a Welsh international having enjoyed a successful career, called time on his career when he decided that he wanted to focus his efforts on his managerial role with Plymouth, he was sacked by them in January.
Still only 33-years-old Fletcher pulled on his boots for the first time since November 2011 when he started in midfield in the weekend win over Hereford on Saturday afternoon.
After winning 36 caps for Wales, and having played at the highest level, I don't think many would doubt his ability, perhaps his fitness could be lacking a bit but he's continued to look after himself so this will prove a good signing I think.
